A pivotal mid-level opportunity has arisen within our Production / Operations department for a Billboard & In-Mall Production Manager, based in Cape Town, South Africa. This critical role is central to the successful realization of our high-visibility outdoor and indoor media campaigns. The Manager will be instrumental in overseeing the intricate production processes, ensuring that creative concepts are flawlessly translated into tangible, high-quality installations that resonate with target audiences and uphold our commitment to superior client delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the complete production lifecycle for billboard and in-mall campaigns.
- Obtain, verify, and distribute correct technical specifications and substrates to printers.
- Maintain active production chaselists, tracking artwork well ahead of flighting dates.
- Coordinate proofs, test prints, special builds, cut-outs, and non-standard executions.
- Obtain supplier quotes, monitor timelines, and proactively update stakeholders on status or delays.
- Build and maintain the master flighting schedule.
- Issue advance flighting notices and brief installation teams with artwork, addresses, and site details.
- Track installations against deadlines, immediately escalating site access issues or delays.
- Secure, verify (quality/accuracy), and upload dated photographic proofs within 24 hours of flighting.
- Coordinate site upkeep, including structural, illumination, and artwork repairs, plus necessary tree trimming.
- Solicit supplier quotes, secure approvals, issue work instructions, and coordinate landlord/centre access.
- Track repairs to completion, secure photographic sign-off, and resolve issues within target turnarounds (approx. 14 days for standard maintenance; 21 days for illumination).
- Prepare weekly Purchase Order (PO) requests and maintain tracking logs.
- Chase supplier commercial invoices (CIs), matching them against approved quotes and completed work.
- Resolve discrepancies and meet strict monthly finance deadlines (supplier CIs in by week one; prior-month invoices by the 10th).
- Cultivate professional relationships with printers, installers, landlords, and internal teams.
- Hold suppliers strictly accountable to quality standards, budgets, and deadlines.
- Communicate potential challenges early, offering practical solutions.
