We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Design Engineer to join our dynamic technical design and engineering department. This crucial role, based at our operations in 122 Koornhof Rd, Meadowdale, Germiston, 1609, South Africa, is central to translating complex requirements into practical, high-performance designs. The successful candidate will play a vital part in the development lifecycle, contributing their technical acumen to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and innovation, directly influencing the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

• perform scaffolding design calculations
• structural steel design of scaffolding components
• computer analysis of scaffolding structures
• travel to site as required to assist clients with designs
• on-site technical assistance during erection of structures
• training
• assist the sales team with detailed explanation of technical information to clients
• understanding cost sensitivity of designs
• ethical balance of income generation vs. giving the client the best offer
• use AutoCAD for 3D modelling and drafting
• assist the sales team and technical design team with creating 3D models of existing structures
• modelling the scaffolding structure
• checking stability and strength of the scaffolding structure
• issuing drawings to the sales and technical teams
