We are seeking a highly disciplined and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of our prominent mining equipment company. This senior-level position is pivotal in ensuring our financial health, maintaining rigorous cost controls, and providing strategic financial insights to leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full financial function, encompassing everything from operational accounting to high-level statutory compliance and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage and optimize the use of BuildSmart for project costing, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Monitor and analyze project-based costs specific to heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring accurate margin analysis and budget adherence.
• Manage working capital and cash flow forecasting to support operational requirements and equipment acquisitions.
• Ensure 100% compliance with IFRS, VAT, PAYE, and all other statutory requirements within the South African regulatory framework.
• Lead the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
• Present insightful financial data to leadership to support decision-making regarding asset management and growth strategies.

Essential Industry and Technical Conditions

This role requires specific industry experience and technical proficiency:

• Candidates must have experience specifically within the Mining, Engineering, or Construction industries.
• A strong understanding of project-based accounting and the financial nuances of the mining equipment sector is essential.
• Candidates without advanced proficiency in BuildSmart will not be considered for this position.
