We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our Commercial Department in Pretoria, South Africa. This senior role is pivotal in shaping our market presence and amplifying our message across various platforms. The specialist will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align with our commercial objectives, drive engagement, and reinforce our unique value proposition in the African market. This position offers a significant opportunity to impact our growth trajectory and contribute to our mission of driving continental progress.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To execute integrated communications, digital and branding initiatives that increase brand awareness and visibility of ASK AFRICA in the local and global market.
  • Thereby ensuring a consistent brand voice across channels and optimize campaigns through data-driven measurement in support of the 50% growth strategy.
  • To ensure that all ASK AFRICA events are executed effectively according to the agreed plan and budget (Project Pack).
  • Sourcing suppliers (together with Procurement and aligned with Policy)
  • Coordinating event logistics
  • Collaborate with sponsors for events
  • Coordinating other marketing collateral
  • Monitoring progress against plan
  • With the support of the Commercial Team & Executives, identify and compile a database to ensure that the right people at the right level attend the events to enhance brand awareness and increase business opportunities within the industry.
  • To effectively execute targeted marketing events and well-planned initiatives to ensure that it constantly builds the positive and professional reputation of ASK AFRICA to support the achievement of the strategic objectives.
  • To create all internal communication for ASK AFRICA according to the social calendar, ensuring overall consistency, relevance, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • To ensure that all content created and used internally, meet the ASK AFRICA set guidelines and/or required standards, to maintain the reputation, strength the brand and builds unity in the ASK AFRICA culture.
  • To coordinate and compile appropriate and exciting information for the ASK AFRICA Newsletter on a quarterly basis, to keep the business informed and up to date with industry trends and business success.
  • Publish internal communications through digital channels track open/engagement metrics and iterate content for higher engagement.
  • To execute the marketing collateral initiatives by providing relevant content and obtaining quality products that support the ASK AFRICA image and reputation in the industry.
  • To execute the corporate-identity for ASK AFRICA by ensuring that all internal communication and events adhere to the set corporate identify policies and procedures that uphold the professional image of the organisation in a standardised and consistent manner.
  • To monitor and report on marketing analytics (online and offline) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to determine the ROI of marketing initiatives including but not limited to: Website traffic LinkedIn traffic Number of leads per event Number of whitepaper/article views Campaign feedback Etc
  • Monitor brand and reputation via social listening and escalate issues (reputation/crisis) to Marketing Manager and Execs as required.
  • To ensure that the marketing and communications initiatives are executed effectively in accordance with agreed SLA’s, to support the achievement of the marketing and event plans.
